Justin Sun, the founder of TRON (TRX), has tweeted that he is “planning” to do a $20M free cash airdrop. The entrepreneur has also said that he will randomly pick 1 winner and give away a Tesla car by March 27th, 2019.

All users have to do to apply is to follow Justin Sun on Twitter and retweet the announcement tweet.

“To celebrate BTT & USDT-TRON success, I am planning a $20M free cash airdrop. Good news – it’s coming, bad news – I may decide to give away more! First, I will randomly pick 1 winner for a Tesla up until 3/27! To apply, follow me and RT this tweet! Simple!” – Writes Sun.

USDT And TRON Collaboration

Earlier in March, popular stablecoin Tether (USDT) announced that it will be introduced on the blockchain of Sun’s TRON. Purportedly, the move is aimed at increasing interoperability with protocols based on the TRON network.

The ordeal should also enhance the entire ecosystem of TRON and the decentralized applications based on it.

Furthermore, it will enable users to exchange and to transact with the dollar-pegged cryptocurrency throughout the TRON Network.

Prior to this, Tether has existed mainly on the Bitcoin-based Omni Layer and it had a small bit of its circulating supply issued as ERC20-based tokens, built on the network of Ethereum.

What Does BTT Has To Do With it?

BitTorrent Token (BTT), on the other hand, is the native token of the BitTorrent file sharing platform which was acquired by Sun last year. It held a very successful ICO through Binance Launchpad, raising upwards of $7M in less than 15 minutes.

It has absolutely no relation, however, to the collaboration between TRON and Tether, apart from maybe the fact that users will be able to purchase BTT tokens with USDT and vice versa through TRON’s network.

BTT’s price has moved sideways for over the past week, consolidating within a tight range between $0.00076 and $0.00075. At the time of this writing, BTT is up about 2.5 percent in the last 24 hours according to data from CoinMarketCap.
