Bitcoin price hit $4,000 today as the cryptocurrency marked its largest 24-hour trading volume in the past 10 months.

Bitcoin is currently trading at $4,000 on cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex, according to data from TradingView.

At the same time, 24-hour trading volume has reached a peak previously touched in May, 2018. According to CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin’s 24-hour volume is around $9 billion.

As My Bitcoin News reported earlier this week, Bitcoin also saw a surge in over-the-counter trading, as popular P2P trading platform LocalBitcoins saw an all-time high trading volume of $31.5 million for the week ending on February 16th.

Bitcoin’s latest leg up started during the weekend and the cryptocurrency has already managed to gain upwards of $300.

Good News

The move up is also accompanied by a range of good news for Bitcoin. Yesterday it was reported that the world’s largest property developer outside of China – Emaar Properties, has started to accept Bitcoin for its residential units.

In addition, My Bitcoin News compared the performance of Bitcoin to Apple stock, outlining that the cryptocurrency has managed to dwarf the tech giant’s growth over the past two years by a factor of 8x.

Earlier today, Elon Musk praised Bitcoin’s structure, saying that it’s ‘brilliant’.
