Rumors Turn True
The rumors of Samsung Galaxy S10’s cryptocurrency storage solution were sparked in late-January this year, following leaked photos of the new phone, displaying pictures of an application called Samsung Blockchain KeyStore.
Samsung has also filed three trademark applications in the EU – one for a Blockchain KeyStore, one for Blockchain Core, and one for Blockchain Key Box.
In any case, it’s not the first company to go after the growing market of blockchain enthusiasts. Last year HTC was the first smartphone manufacturer to create a blockchain phone called Exodus 1.
UPDATE: Since the publishing of the article, new information has come to light. A user has shared a video clip which shows that Samsung Galaxy S10 comes with an included Blockchain tutorial. It reveals that the cryptocurrency storage solution can be used to store both Bitcoin and Ethereum. It’s unclear whether other digital assets are or will be supported.
