Tipping on Twitter Through the LN
A very simple has made tipping on Twitter possible throughout Bitcoin’s layer two scaling solution – the Lighting Network.
Tippin.me, as the solution is called, allows users to install a Google Chrome extension which enables tipping on Twitter by using a specifically designated tip button on every single tweet.
The tips are all made through Bitcoin’s LIghtning Network, guaranteeing instant transactions and almost zero fees.
Users only have to log into the web app’s interface using their twitter account. As soon as this is done, a custodial wallet will be generated, allowing users to receive and manage BTC through the LN.
All the user has to do is to have a LIghtning Wallet. Users can open a direct channel using Tippin.me by clicking on a lightning symbol and scanning their QR codes.
Twitter CEO: ‘This Is Excellent’
Twitter’s CEO, Jack Dorsey, who’s a well-known bitcoin proponent, was quick to praise the tipping solution, saying that it’s ‘excellent’.
Dorsey has also recently expressed his fascination with the Lightning Network. He’s also the CEO at Square and he said that it’s only a matter of time before the LN gets integrated into the company’s CashApp.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin has managed to touch $4,000 and has marked its largest volume trading day in the past 10 days.
