Ripple (XRP) XRP Second Favorite Cryptocurrency After Bitcoin
The Director of Digital Asset Strategy at VanEck and popular Bitcoin proponent Gabor Gurbacs posted an interesting poll on Twitter.
He asked the community:
If you had to pick one, what would be your second favorite digital asset holding after Bitcoin? Vote and retweet to get a good sample size. Comment with your reasoning or if you have another choice that you prefer.
The options to vote for were Ripple (XRP), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT or any other stablecoin, and “Other”.
At the time of this writing, 6,500 people have already voted. XRP is the predominant winner, collecting 50% of the votes so far. Second in line is ETH with 22%, while 24% have chosen “Other.” Only 4% of the voters prefer USDT.
There are 6 more days left to vote on the poll as of today.
XRP’s Reportedly Inflated Market Cap
Earlier this month, cryptocurrency data company Messari reported that Ripple’s XRP has inflated numbers of their advertised market capitalization and circulating supply.
Purportedly, the numbers are around 47% higher. The discrepancy is caused because large amounts of XRP is held in accounts which have serious selling restrictions.
Shortly after the report was published, Ryan Selkis, CEO of Messari, shared that he has been subjected to threats by the XRP community.
Selkis has called Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple, to publicly denounce any XRP community threats against his family.
